This is a journey, where you decide what’s next
Through poetry, stories, photos, and more —
seek adventure to explore…
I’d like to share a few things with you. Mostly stuff I’ve written, plus some visual representations, along with step-by-step descriptions so you can check these places out yourself.
You can call this a travel blog, but I hope that you view it as more of an experience, a build your own adventure. For example, you can skim the stories and glance at the images, but the point is for you to feel what’s there… When a poem features a waterfall, I want you to notice a cool mist on your cheek… By the end of each narrative, I hope you can picture the characters walking by… With every instant photo, you should climb into the scene… Through Adventure to Explore, you can leave where you are and go anywhere…
Depending on your mood, you can browse Travel by… and choose how you wish to proceed — are you looking for poetry or anecdotes? Only photos or a burst of flash fiction? The choice is yours.
Or maybe you’d rather learn a bit about the author — shimmy over to About me… to find a collection of pieces that may provide some context.
Maybe you’re interested in memorable encounters with colorful personalities, you’ll enjoy People you’ll meet… And if you just wanna get away and don’t care where or how — dive into Quick!
If you’re looking for real, tangible recommendations and information to help plan your own trip, head to Get up and go… From there, you can even narrow your focus to specific categories like Road trips or Hiking.
And if you’d rather investigate what particular locations have to offer, check out Places…

The word travel evokes something different in all of us. For me, I’ve always associated it with optimism, possibility, learning, and escape. It was an underlying theme in the earliest stories I recall from childhood; was the subject of my favorite books growing up; and has always been what I love talking about most.
Years ago, when I was living by myself for the first time (one room apartment), I remember looking at the empty walls and seeing a blank canvas. What began as a simple project — printing and displaying photographs, short poems on ripped sheets of paper — evolved into a sprawling mural, and eventually felt like a personal museum. I’d find myself staring at an instant photo and hear the birds that were singing on a branch above me, then I’d read a short poem and suddenly see things from a different perspective. I loved dropping into and out of these memories. In a sense, Adventure to Explore is a continuation of that project.
